I wonder if Hugh Hefner in his last days, as he tottered around his crumbling, piss-stained McMansion, knew what was happening to his empire. I kind of hope he did:
For the first time in its 64-year history, Playboy magazine will feature a transgender Playmate, a decision that Cooper Hefner, a top executive at the magazine, said on Thursday was in keeping with its founding mission of embracing changing attitudes about sex.
Ace mentions this, but I can’t imagine anyone under the age of 60 still subscribes to Playboy. They’re following in the desperate footsteps of GQ, Esquire and plenty of other once-unique publishing brands by appealing to the SJW crowd.
It won’t work.
Sure, people will laud them on Twitter and maybe sales will get a minor bump, but can anyone really see a bunch of feminists suddenly deciding that Playboy is a great magazine that deserves their support? SJWs infiltrate. They don’t care if the host lives or dies.
Aside from that, if every other outlet is now posting social justice clickbait, what differentiates Playboy from anyone else? A chick with a penis? That’s almost passé at this point.
There are lots of old institutions these days that have sped up their own decline by submitting to this garbage. I’m glad to see that Playboy has joined them.
When school administrators aren’t busy covering for teachers having sex with their students, sometimes they get bored and spend gobs of public money on social engineering programs. In the last few years anti-bullying has become the new DARE, SANE, BECOOL or whatever you had in school, and the results have been just as successful.
The student videos used in many campaigns show examples of bullying and how to intervene. But [University of Texas at Arlington criminologist Seokjin] Jeong says they may actually teach students different bullying techniques — and even educate about new ways to bully through social media and texting.
Jeong said students with ill intentions “…are able to learn, there are new techniques [and gain] new skills.” He says students might see examples in videos and then want to try it.
Social engineers never seem to figure out that people use information for their own purposes. Good people use information for good, and vice-versa when it comes to bad people. Some rotten little monster somewhere had never even thought of using Twitter or texting to harass one of his fellow students, but this handy-dandy little training video just gave him a brand new way to do evil even when his target isn’t present.
Moreover, as The Political Hat notes, being constantly pestered by the school to accept everyone as a happy rainbow of getting along might cause resentment in ordinary kids that could lead to more bullying.
Much of the “anti-bullying” focus has been on LGBTQ kids. As has just been noted, the “anti-bullying” tactics will tend to encourage people to be resentful against those who have been raised to the position of special protection, and be given a privilege thereby. This is particularly true when those who don’t have that privilege are told that they are legitimate targets for criticism because “social justice” advocates say they are “privileged” just for being normal.
Does anyone think that forcing girls in Colorado to share a bathroom with a teenaged shemale, which was forced upon the girls by a politically correct legislature, makes people more tolerant? If there’s anything that pisses people off, especially teenagers, it’s special privileges.
Besides, the problem isn’t, nor has it ever been, an abstract concept like “bullying.” The problem is with bullies. Some kids are just awful little sociopaths who need to be identified and shamed. We all know that teachers and administrators won’t lift a finger to do that.
Update: Dead Richard Nixon reblogged this from Purgatory.
Update II: Rightward Journal on Twitter reminds us of the other way to handle a bully.
Forgot to mention that.
Update III: Linked at Regular Right Guy. Apparently the movie about the Wikileaks tool is tanking. Couldn’t have seen that coming.
Have you forgotten something, Gramps? In order to feel something, you have to be there. You have to be 18. You’re not 18, you are 78. Old fool sold his soul for a strap-on.

This story is almost a week old, but I was busy writing bad fiction and was only able to give it a quick link yesterday. RS McCain linked last week’s story of Nancy Verhelst, a Belgian female-to-male transsexual who died of physician-assisted suicide (which is apparently legal and on the rise in Belgium) after the new surgical body she received didn’t help her lifelong depression.
Nathan, born Nancy, Verhelst, 44, was given legal euthanasia, most likely by lethal injection, on the grounds of “unbearable psychological suffering” on Monday afternoon. . . .
“I was the girl that nobody wanted,” Mr Verhelst told Het Laatste Nieuws newspaper in the hours before her death. . . .
Mr Verhelst had hormone therapy in 2009, followed by a mastectomy and surgery to construct a penis in 2012. But “none of these operations worked as desired”.
Transsexuality is the new gay among the PC crowd, and as such we are never allowed to question whether or not something that looks completely unnatural is anything other than a normal expression of sexuality. If we were allowed to question these things, Verhelst’s words about her own childhood might put things into perspective.
“While my brothers were celebrated, I got a storage room above the garage as a bedroom. ‘If only you had been a boy’, my mother complained. I was tolerated, nothing more.”
When Mommy Dearest was questioned by the Telegraph after Verhelst’s death, she said, “Her death does not bother me. I feel no sorrow, no doubt or remorse. We never had a bond.” Can anyone guess why Nancy Verhelst might have hated herself and wanted to be a man?
Here is The Political Hat, expanding on McCain’s short post:
This insistence on destroying “cis-normative” values had led to the Progressive Left to deny that anyone who has ever questioned that they might be the wrong gender or sex could possibly be wrong. The possibility that a girl is really a girl and just confused, or that this case of transgender/transsexualism was itself a “social construct,” has become “H8″ that must be banished and condemned as absolute evil.
An adult who had a shit childhood is very likely to have all sorts of issues that need to be worked out. Nancy Verhelst needed decades of therapy and probably medication, but instead she bought a fake penis and hormones because that seemed like the easy way out, and our (and it is our) culture didn’t tell her that there really is no easy way out. And then, at the end of the day, she took the easy way out.
McCain offers a very fitting epitaph: “The distance between one’s desires and one’s reality can most easily be shortened by accepting reality.”
Update: Dead Richard Nixon is way quicker than you would think with the reblog thing.
Update II: Linked at The Political Hat.
Title stolen from Regular Right Guy, who always beats me to these stories.
Here’s a little known fact: Jerry Brown has been dead since 2007. I don’t mean that in some weird metaphorical way, either. He keeled over at a cocktail party in San Leandro from a massive brain hemorrhage. Now, dead people vote all the time in California elections, but running them for statewide election is a bit more problematic, so at the request of Anne Gust Brown her husband’s body was quickly embalmed and turned into a gruesome life-sized puppet.
Usually it’s unions holding the strings, but yesterday the Hollywood/Academic Left got the chance to control the executive pen for a moment and scrawled Jerry Brown’s signature across AB 1266, allowing transgendered students to use the restroom of their choice and play on the sports teams of their choosing. It’s a damn shame that Pete Wilson would never have signed a bill like this, because I think I would have liked high school PE a whole lot more if this had been in effect.
The transgender thing was the new moronic academic fad at around the time when I was contemplating dropping out of grad school, and now it’s making its way into official policy. It was annoying having to hear about transgender rights and “transphobia” from PC academics, but when California’s government puts the business of a fraction of a percentage point of the population over the many other problems in the state, it becomes downright offensive. High unemployment? Transgender elementary students. State is broke? Transgender elementary students. Rising gas prices? Transgender elementary students.
Now I’m about to write the most goddam patriotic thing ever written in history, so brace yourselves. America is the greatest country in the history of this planet, and if a man (for example) wants to go to a doctor to get pumped full of hormones and have his gennies cut off and replaced with an ersatz vagina, that person is still my fellow American and entitled to the same legal protections as everyone else. If a transgender person is assaulted, the person who carried out the attack should go to jail. At the same time, I have problems of my own, and it’s not my obligation, morally, professionally or otherwise, to worry about the sensitivities of people who actually think that God or nature made some sort of colossal mistake with their bodies. See? That’s tolerance.
And it’s not transphobic to think that the whole thing is weird.
Update 2: Thanks to The Political Hat for the link.
