Well here’s a story that’s about as surprising as the sunrise this morning:
After the New York Times belatedly broke the news of Weinstein’s predatory behavior, the rest of the dam of silence has begun to collapse. At least three women, two of which went on the record, now accuse Weinstein of rape, while dozens of others have come forward to discuss being victimized by varying degrees of sexual assault.
Let’s put this through what I’ll call the Wonkette Rape Matrix of male feminism:
A) Is the man a in question accused of rape?
B) Is the man in question a powerful Democrat?
Now, we have a dilemma on our hands, or perhaps a contradiction in terms. A powerful Democrat cannot, by definition, be really guilty of rape. That being said, if a woman accuses a man of rape, he must be guilty and cannot possibly be a good feminist. Let us turn back to Rebecca Schoenkopf for clarification:
I can absolutely see Bill Clinton doing this (then, not now) and not even thinking of it as rape, but thinking of it as dominant, alpha sex. I can see a LOT of men doing that during that time period, before we started telling them in the ’80s, “hey, that is rape, do not do that.” I can see YOUR NICE GRANDPA doing that, back then.
So, because a powerful Democrat once raped a woman and didn’t really think of it as rape, it wasn’t really “rape rape,” to use Whoopie Goldberg’s phrase. Moreover, that must mean that all men did this in those long ago 1970s. Hell, the 70s might as well have been 2005, right?
To sum up, I think Bill Clinton could very well have raped Juanita Broaddrick; that it doesn’t make him an evil man, or irredeemable (I’m Catholic; we’re all forgiven, if we’re sorry, and Broaddrick says Bill Clinton personally called her up to apologize). It doesn’t even necessarily make him a bad feminist — you know, later, once he stops doing that.
You see, all it takes is one female feminist (read: Democrat) to forgive the male feminist in order for him to maintain his feminist credentials; it doesn’t even have to be the woman he raped. Jesus said that. It’s somewhere in the Bible: “Verily, he who is forgiven has to be really really sorry. He doesn’t have to stop doing that shit, and he doesn’t even have to believe in Me” (Gospel According to Andrea 66:6).
Now all we need is one feminist to lay hands on Harvey Weinstein (not in that way, you weirdo) and he will remain a male feminist in good standing.
Hillary, we’re looking at you.
Update: Hillary Clinton sort of releases a sort of statement:
“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein,” Clinton said in the statement. “The behavior described by the women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior.”
Notice that she doesn’t actually say anything about Harvey Weinstein in this bit of meandering Clintonism. This may be a job for a real feminist: Meryl Streep.
Update 2: Vox Day is more optimistic than I am. From a post entitled “The fat pig is toast”:
What a joke. This loser is not at all powerful, he’s overtly and observably pathetic. Just listen to the pig whine and beg. The sickness of any industry that would allow this sort of disgusting creature to have any influence at all is an indication that it should be burned to the ground.
Well, I don’t disagree with the sentiment.
I call it a myth instead of a lie because President Obama is such a shallow thinker that he probably thinks that women actually are earning 77% on the dollar to men for performing the same work.
Hanna Rosin at Slate (of all places) writes,
How many times have you heard that “women are paid 77 cents on the dollar for doing the same work as men”? Barack Obama said it during his last campaign. Women’s groups say it every April 9, which is Equal Pay Day. In preparation for Labor Day, a group protesting outside Macy’s this week repeated it, too, holding up signs and sending out press releases saying “women make $.77 to every dollar men make on the job.” I’ve heard the line enough times that I feel the need to set the record straight: It’s not true.
Read the whole thing for the complete analysis. Obama is the intellectual equivalent of an animated GIF.

Geez. I stopped paying attention to political news in California for a few days and in swooped Neel Kashkari, the investment banker who helped run TARP under Bush and Obama, to announce that he’s running for governor. In difficult times, God, the universe, the Prime Mover or whatever calls upon great men to rise up and deliver this kind of rousing oratory.
“I’m running for governor of California to strengthen California families, so that every kid in California gets a good education, and to create a lot of good jobs,” the 40-year-old Republican told hundreds of people at a lunch at Cal State Sacramento.”That’s my platform, jobs and education. Jobs and education,” he said.
JSF at Valley of the Shadow has a post about the upcoming election and what we can learn from 2010.
The last Gubernatorial Election, we had a policy maker with no Political experience [Meg Whitman – ed.] win the Primary (repeated on a national level in 2012 with the same team!) against a candidate who worked within the Party Structure who built connections. The Party Guy lost and we all lost in 2010.
The idea of electing an actual conservative to statewide office might be tilting at a windmill, but the last moderate outsider we had in California was Schwarzenegger. That model probably isn’t going to repeat itself.
This is our current governor folks.
The state just might be beyond redemption for a few more generations. We need someone who is going to articulate a real alternative.
Thank God for lefty Facebook friends. They post the funniest shit. In a section fittingly titled GroupThink, Jezebel has a post entitled This Is What I Mean When I Say “White Feminism”, wherein the author demands that white feminists prostrate themselves to their moral superiors on the victimhood ladder. She even has a handy Venn diagram to illustrate where her certain feminists fall on the oppressor scale. I’ll quote the section that’s bolded, because that means it’s important.
White feminism is a set of beliefs that allows for the exclusion of issues that specifically affect women of colour. It is “one size-fits all” feminism, where middle class white women are the mould that others must fit. It is a method of practicing feminism, not an indictment of every individual white feminist, everywhere, always. [Emphasis in the original]
It’s hilarious to watch a movement that seeks to dispel stereotypes about women cracking because of gamesmanship and infighting.

ObamaCare is officially a joke. Not a funny joke, mind you, because this is Saturday Night Live, but it looks like the Unicorn Prince has lost his most loyal sycophants.
Remember: Liberalism will never go under the bus. No matter how many times their policies fail, liberals will blame someone else. ObamaCare will go under the bus. Barack Obama will go under the bus. Liberalism is here to stay.
