California Plans to Ban the Private Sector by 2016

I must have Stockholm Syndrome. It doesn’t make me mad anymore when Democrats in California’s legislature pass something boneheaded that will no doubt be signed by our zombie Governor.

The California legislature approved an increase in the minimum wage from $8 to $10 an hour late last week. The hike will be phased in over the next three years adding $1 in 2014 and another in 2016, according to Raw Story.

See, I understand. When your entire career is paid for by unions and your voter base is losers, you have to do things to pay off the unions and flatter the losers. It isn’t much different from the Obama Administration.

This will be a disaster for everyone in the long run, just like every other policy pushed by Democrats and their lobbyists, but the reality is that the politicians are sent to Sacramento to carry out the will of the people, and the will of the people of California means bad ideas that never work as intended.

Enjoy the new cost of a Big Mac folks. The people get the government that they deserve.

Update: Looks like everyone is on Twitter these days. Thanks Mr. President.

A California Municipal bond bought today will never have any value to it. Buying Cal munis is like donating to the state.

California is headed the way of Detroit. The major difference are the size of the Cal economy dwarfs Detroit and the fact that California is still doing dumb stuff. California isn’t even trying to address their coming Bankruptcy. They are just smoking their bongs and ignoring the facts.

Most Californians are going to be shocked when it all collapses. The bad thing is that it will effect me here in Arizona too. That sucks!

Remember when it happens, I told you so.

Oh, I know. I work in San Bernardino sometimes, and it looks like they’re building public works projects on top of a toxic waste dump. It’s a perfect harbinger of things to come for the rest of the state.

The politicians just don’t want to be in office when it all hits the fan, so they keep patching things up in the hope that they’ll be term-limited out by the time it all happens.

It’s depressing. I’ve lived my whole life here.

Man, it sucks to be you my friend.

Dumbasses don’t realize that jobs at fast food places and such, are usually a teen’s first foray into the sometimes wonderful world of the free market economy.

Exactly. A job at the local theme park isn’t meant to go to a 30 year old college graduate with work experience.

The wage hike also effectively lowers everyone else’s wages, because I’m sure I’m not getting a raise any time soon.
